Welcome to Leviosa. We are product creators, business operators and investors based in Singapore and Paris.
There is a lot of vanity in the business world today. Businesses, both small and
large, get caught up in things that aren’t important - how much money was raised, how many people were hired
or how flashy the new office is. And it happens at the micro-level too, mostly in the form of office politics:
who sits where on the org chart, which titles are given to whom and how much budget is assigned to which
department.
We think this is a tragedy.
Businesses have stopped focusing on the two main things
that matter: firstly, creating amazing new products and services for their customers. In other words, creating
value. And secondly, being profitable in order to be self-sustainable. In other words, capturing
value.
These principles aren’t new - they’ve appeared in business books, podcasts, in MBA lectures and
(ironically) in VC LinkedIn posts. But they’ve been bastardised by the same people who claim to swear by them.
Too many companies today are plagued by bloating, vanity, politics and a good dose of narcissism.
We
think there is no reason for businesses to suffer from many of these issues. We believe that lean, efficient
and principles-driven is the way to go. We want to work in small teams of ultra-focused, intelligent and
ambitious people, in a no-BS environment that rewards creating and capturing value.
That is why we
created Leviosa.
Defining how we build.
User Comes First
We start with “what” first before deciding “how”.
The desired user experience determines the product, never the other way around.
Capturing the Essence
Understanding the core value proposition of
a product means we can start capturing it in our Alpha version. Without this there is no product-market
fit.
Defining how we operate.
Friendly Candor
We cut the bullshit with radical candor. We never
make it personal, by focusing on the business facts.
Skin in the Game
The prerequisite for success in business is
ownership. Be aware of your ownership and act accordingly.
Defining how we think.
Truth-Seeking
We’re never afraid to ask difficult questions in the
pursuit of truth. We approach everything scientifically.
Darwin was Right
We must learn when, where and how to evolve in
order to survive.
Defining how we do business.
Reality Checks
Revenue is vanity, profit is sanity, cash is
reality.
Competition is for Losers
Commoditisation destroys value,
differentiation drives value.
